Equisetum ramosissimum Desf.

This species is native to Temperate & Subtropical Old World, Ethiopia, extending to S Africa. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Equisetum occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

A leafless perennial herb ; up to 1 m tall , with erect , long-creeping , or ascending , blackish brown rhizomes , and branches produced at the nodes , branched mainly below , grey-green ; branchlets slender , hollow , 8-ribbed . Spore sacs (sori) terminal on the main stems , shortly clavate or ellipsoid , with a blunt conical apex with small acute tip , sessile . (Ref . Miller & Cope ; 1996) .
