Rhizome , erect , spindle-shaped to linear ; up to 10 cm high , with fleshy , horizontaly , interconnected roots . Fronds (1-)2 , surrounded at the base by persistent leaf base ; sterile lamina grey or glaucus green , narrowly ovate to elliptic , apex pointed , mucronate , occasionally rounded , base wedge-shaped , texture rather fleshy ; fertile segment attached at the base of the sterile lamina , acute at the tip , with 13-30 pairs of sporangia . Sopre cases (sori) borne on a fertile long segment attached to the leaf base . (Ref . Miller & Cope ; 1996) .
