Rhizome shortly creeping ; up to 1 cm long with very dense , golden brown , concolorous , lanceolate-acuminate scales . Fronds tufted , arching , softly herbaceous ; lamina ovate-triangular , very finely 2-4 times pinnately divided ; lowest pinnae triangular-ovate , 1-3-pinnate , sometimes enlarged ; upper pinnae pinnate , oblong-acute in outline towards the apex , unequally triangular-ovate at the base . Spore sacs (sori) subcircular , in two rows on the pinnules ; indusium kidney-shaped , pilose with straight white unicellular hairs . (Ref . Miller & Cope ; 1996) .
