Cosentinia vellea (Aiton) Tod.

This species is native to Mediterranean, extending to NE Tropical Africa and Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is only one species of Cosentinia occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Small perennial , sturdy and evergreen fern ; up to 5 cm high with short rhizome , clothed in pale brown scales . Fronds tufted ; stip short , reddish brown , densely hairy ; lamina 2-3-pinnate , narrowly elliptic , dense brown hairy below , dark green and lightly hairy on the upper surface . Spore sacs (sori) borne on the margin of the lower leaf surface . (Ref . Miller & Cope ; 1996) .
