Inflorescences pedunclate , each stalk with one or two flowers . Flowers yellow ; petals ovate , thick . Fruit syncarpous , c . 30 cm long , indehiscent , dark green , ovoid-globose or cylindrical , leathery , egg-shaped , with fleshy spines ; flesh juicy , acidic , whitish , aromatic . (Ref .
