Leaves up to 30 cm , numerous , arising from the base of stem , cylindrical , linear , hollow , somewhat fleshy , slightly compressed . Inflorescences on erect terminal spikes . Flowers white with a dark red stripe down the centre ; stamens 6 ; filaments white ; anthers orange ; ovary 1-locular ; style white ; stigma 3-lobed . Fruit capsule , small , ± 3 mm in diameter , brown , opening by 3 valves . Seeds many . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 4) .
