Inflorescences dioecious , terminal , solitary , borne on a short peduncle , enclosed in a leaf similar to the others . Flowers small , enclosed in a leaf similar to the others ; male flower: consisting of 2 anthers ; female flower: consisting of 2 carpels . Fruit ± 2 mm , ovoid , compressed with a short apical beak .
