Halodule uninervis (Forssk.) Boiss.

This species is native to Egypt, extending to S Africa and W Pacific. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is one species of Halodule occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Rhizomatous , submerged , marine perennial herb , with 1-6 roots at each node , rooting in sand . Stems short , erect . Leaves alternate , 50-150 × 0 . 5-3 mm , narrowly linear to oblong , entire , apex with 2 minute teeth , 3-veined ; leaf sheath 10-30 mm , persisting longer than the leaf blade . Inflorescences dioecious , terminal , solitary , borne on a short peduncle , enclosed in a leaf similar to the others . Flowers small , enclosed in a leaf similar to the others ; male flower: consisting of 2 anthers ; female flower: consisting of 2 carpels . Fruit ± 2 mm , ovoid , compressed with a short apical beak .
