Cyperus nutans var. eleusinoides (Kunth) R.W.Haines

This variety is native to Tropical Africa, extending to N & E Australia. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 24 species of Cyperus found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial herb ; up to 100 cm tall with a thick short rhizome . Stems (clums) few , 3-angled , glabrous . Leaves up to 60 cm long , shorter than stems ; leaf sheath long , pale green to yellowish green ; leaf blade linear , flat , margin scabrous , apex acuminate . Inflorescences a compound or decompound anthela , primary branches 4-7 ; spikelets greyish green , densely arranged in several rows , linear-oblong , 6-12-flowered ; glumes greyish green , lax , ovate-elliptic , membranous , 5-7-veined , apex mucronate . Fruit nutlet , dark brown , obovoid-oblong , 3-sided , minutely papillose . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 4) .
