Erect perennial herb ; up to 60 cm with leafy stems and a creeping rhizome . Stems erect , leafy throughout , 8-20-leaved . Leaves alternate , plicate , lance-shaped , acuminate , with entire margins , sheathing at the base . Inflorescences many-flowered , on one side of short stalks arising from leaf nodes . Flowers large , green to yellowish green with purplish or reddish radial stripes and white tip to the lip , becoming pendulous with age ; sepals green with purplish to maroon margins ; petals ovate , acute . Fruit capsule , cylindrical , splitting lenght-wise . Seeds brown , tiny . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 4) .
